Without our dedicated volunteers, the Foundation would not be able to do the wonderful work that we do for children…
Since January 2014, PMH Foundation has put on four Stitches Bear Fairs in the car park at Princess Margaret Hospital.
Stitches’ Bear Fairs are bright and brilliantly loud events. Amusement rides circle around carnival tunes, while Stitches the Bear greets the kids of Princess Margaret Hospital who come out of the waiting areas and wards to enjoy the magical atmosphere, play games and eat treats like popcorn, fairy floss and fruit.
Amongst the crowd are the PMH Foundation volunteers; the most invaluable members of the Bear Fair. These compassionate men and women help serve the delicious food and keep everyone hydrated by circulated cups of water. They also greet the families at the entrance and make sure everyone has their “VIP” lanyard and help with the entertainment stalls and rides. Without our volunteers, who bring smiles to kids’ faces, the Stitches’ Bear Fairs just wouldn’t be the same.
A particularly big thanks to our resident Bear Fair DJ, Mark Jones who has volunteered his time to mix up some party tunes at each of our Stitches’ Bear Fairs.
Volunteering for PMH Foundation requires some special qualities. Having a sound knowledge of Disney movie soundtracks definitely helps, but having a positive attitude and giving nature really defines our volunteers.
On behalf of the Foundation, we would like to thank the numerous volunteers that have worked with priceless effort to make our Stitches’ Bear Fairs so wonderful for the children in Princess Margaret Hospital.
