The Perth Mint is inspiring a love of coins!

WA kids have the opportunity to learn more about coins and coin collecting through The Perth Mint’s Young Collectors initiative. They can start their very own coin collecting journey while collecting coins themselves for sick kids in hospital.

Displayed beautifully in a presentation album, the Mythical Creatures set and Backyard Bugs set contain nine supersized $1 coins. Both sets include information about the different creatures and a magnifying glass so that kids can get up close to these gorgeous coins!

The Young Collector sets are available to the first 200 schools that are involved in raising funds for kids in hospital. They are also available to community fundraisers to be used as prizes in their fundraising.

But perhaps the most special use of these coins is as a memento for kids spending time in hospital. The team at Megazone have been giving visiting children a coin album, brightening their stay. They have also been delivering coin sets to kids that are too sick to leave their rooms, giving them something unique to study in between doctors’ visits.

A huge thank you to The Perth Mint for thinking of kids in hospital and donating these gorgeous kits to us!
